Life as a software/game developer

Hi, I'm Robert Sälg, an experienced software developer with over two decades of experience in the field, since the turn of the millennium in 2000.

I've always had a knack for both developing and design. In addition to my work on big projects, I've dabbled in 3D art as a hobby. Over time, I found myself gravitating towards projects that let me flex my creative muscles more, like making cool award-winning interactive websites or apps, interactive solutions for museums, and so on, creating ever more interactive and visually engaging projects.

Fifteen years ago, I took the plunge and started my own game company. It's been a wild ride, with some big successes – like a drag racing game that pulled in tens of millions of players at its peak. Game development has it all, coding, math, physics, 2D/3D art, animations, audio, extreme optimization and compatibility, game design, storytelling, user interface/user experience (UI/UX) design, playtesting, marketing, community management, and so much more - the best way to unite technical developing skills with art and creativity.

What sets me apart is my mix of skills – I'm not just a developer; I'm also a designer. This blend allows me to create tech solutions that are not only functional but also visually appealing. I've got experience building tools and frameworks for 2D games across multiple platforms like Android, iOS, and more.
